KEB Meter Transfer process - Karnataka Bengaluru

Go and inquire about application form.
Then follow below process:

1. Purchase an application form after checking with KEB/BESCOM from any vendors around.
   it would cost around Rs.350/- max. ( Check for correctness of template, Franking amount on papers etc ).

2. Now fill the application form.
3. Take signature of previous owner.
4. Pay Rs.100/- charge and give the application from along with Sale Deed or Khata Certificate etc by showing originals. If your documents are with Bank ( loan ) then you can get copy of signed and sealed documents from respective Bank and give that in BESCOM.
5. Keep information about Meter manufacturer, and details written on the electric meter at your home. Its good to take photo of it if you have a smart phone :)
6. Note down the present meter reading and pay any outstanding.
7. Get acknowledge

Note: Never pay any bribe so that we can also be clean at our transactions.

BWSSB Transfer process - Bengaluru Karnataka India

 Please find below a sample affidavit for BWSSB purpose. What you need to do next:

1.       Fill in the blanks, do any minor edits as applicable for you. Also write a simple letter for transfer of the said connection.
2.       Purchase an e-stamp paper for the minimum amount (Rs. 20 or Rs. 50).
3.       Get a computer printout of the document on the e-stamp paper.
4.       Sign the document at DEPONENT.
5.       Go to any Notary and get it attested.

That’s it. Pay transfer money(Around Rs.250/- in Jan 2013) at the BWSSB office (with receipt). Take a photocopy of the request letter for the transfer and get it signed/sealed as acknowledgement. Follow up after two weeks.

That the water supply and sanitary connection bearing RR No. ______________ still stands in the name of the previous owner, namely Sri. ____________.


I request that the concerned BWSSB authorities, i.e. _______ sub-division, BWSSB, Bangalore accept this affidavit and transfer the said water supply and sanitary connection to my name.


In this regard, in future, if any claims, litigation, court case arise with respect to this water supply and sanitary connection, I will be held responsible for the same.


What is stated above is true and correct.

Note: In government offices following this fundamental thing.
1. There will be always simple process never get confused too much about process.
2. Never ask too many basic questions to officials where by you show your self as illiterate in things that are needed for daily life in India.

The process is simple.

  1. Take a form from the office or help centers ( 10/- per form ).
  2. Get previous owner signature
  3. Calculate 2% on stamp duty for the DD in favor of revenue officer.
  4. Give DD, application signed by previous owner, photo copy of mother deed, sale deed, previous khata certificate, tax paid receipt etc.
  5. Take originals, ( if they are with bank then certified copy from bank, notary done on each page etc ).
  6. Submit and don't go behind them later as per SAKALA rule they have to finish in one month maximum.
  7. You can later get khata certificate and extract from any citizen help centers available around Bangalore. You don't need to go to same office.
Note: Get the SAKALA reference number added to your acknowledgment that you get.
